Bear Stearns hires Margolis for structured equity products

New York, June 12 - Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. said it hired Scott Margolis as a managing director in its convertible securities department where he will be part of the structured equity products group.

In his new position, Margolis will report to Michael Lloyd, senior managing director and head of convertible trading.

Bear Stearns said Margolis' appointment follows Bear Stearns' recent recruitment of Paul Rosica as head of convertibles origination.

Margolis was previously a trader with Credit Suisse First Boston. Previously he worked at UBS and Lehman Brothers in convertibles and equity derivatives.

"Scott is a seasoned trader with extensive experience in convertible securities," Lloyd said in a news release. "He is widely respected throughout the industry and will undoubtedly complement the group as we continue to grow our convertible trading franchise."
