Wachovia adds Fitzpatrick to high yield sales team

St. Louis, Dec. 11 - Wachovia Securities, Inc. announced Wednesday that it hired Liz Fitzpatrick, a veteran fixed income salesperson, as a director in its eight-person high yield sales team.

Prior to joining Wachovia Securities, Fitzpatrick spent 16 years in fixed income sales at Bank of America, selling high yield bonds during her final nine years there. For the past 18 months, Fitzpatrick has taken time off to be with her family.

"Fitzpatrick joins Wachovia Securities as the firm continues to build share in a contracting market," commented Gary Palmer, a managing director and co-head of the high yield desk in Wachovia Securities' Fixed Income Division, in the Wednesday press release.

"Although new issues are down by about a third this year, Wachovia Securities has been in on about one in four deals brought to market," Palmer said, adding "We are gaining mind share and market share, and adding someone of Liz's caliber will help us continue this trend."

Fitzpatrick graduated from Colby College with an undergraduate degree in History and Business Administration, according to the release.
