Three leave Merrill's loan group

By Sara Rosenberg

Mew York, Oct. 23 - Merrill Lynch & Co. laid off three people from its loan business on Wednesday, according to market sources.

The brokerage firm would not confirm the bank loan market professionals were laid off but spokesman Michael DuVally said Wednesday "was their last day."

The individuals who left Merrill included: Amy Miller from the loan capital markets group, Harold Siegel from the loan syndication group and Neil Brisson from the loan/par trading group, DuVally confirmed.

"We continue to actively manage our resources including expenses and headcount," DuVally told Prospect News. "We are very committed to the lending business and continue to have a substantial lending business in both New York and London."
