Bear Stearns names Aisola head of convertible research
Nashville, Tenn., July 15 - Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. announced Monday that Rao Aisola has joined the firm as a managing director and head of Convertible Bond Research.
In this capacity, Aisola will lead a team of researchers focusing on a variety of strategies including Convertible Arbitrage, Capital Structure Arbitrage, Index and Special Situations.
"We are extremely pleased that Rao will be heading our convertible research effort,' said Michael Lloyd, head of convertible bond trading.
"He [Aisola] brings expertise in derivatives, arbitrage and fundamental analysis, a combination which is rare on Wall Street, and one that will prove invaluable to our clients."
Prior to joining Bear Stearns, Aisola was a senior analyst covering telecommunications and equipment, technology, retail and convertible arbitrage at Morgan Stanley.
He also was a convertible arbitrage analyst/trader at Salomon Asset and Bankers Trust, and a proprietary interest rate derivatives trader at Citigroup.
Aisola holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a MS in Computer Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
