RBC hires Daifotis to head high yield origination, capital markets

New York, June 12 - RBC Capital Markets said it hired Nicholas P. Daifotis as head of high yield origination and capital markets.

Daifotis, who will be a managing director at RBC, was previously with Barclays Capital where he headed financial sponsor coverage.

In his new position, Daifotis will report to Kenneth J. Kencel, co-head of RBC Leveraged Capital.

Daifotis has worked in high yield finance for more than 20 years, RBC said, adding that he was one of the founders of the high yield effort at Chase Securities, Inc. and before that was with Merrill Lynch's high yield group.

"We are very pleased to have an individual of Nick's caliber join us," said Kencel in a news release. "He is central to our plans for expanding our high yield finance effort and will take the lead role in originating and structuring high yield financings for our corporate clients."
