MTR Securities hires eight more for sales, trading and research

New York, April 15 - Miller Tabak Roberts Securities, LLC said it hired eight more professionals as part of its continuing expansion.

MTR Securities, which recently moved to new trading facilities, hired five senior vice presidents, two first vice presidents and an assistant vice president - and said it plans to add more people.

"MTR's expansion is in response to the increasing number of clients involved in our products and the growing number and volatility of issues in these markets. We are also gearing up to meet the ever-increasing demand for MTR's independent research," said Robert Schoenthal, senior managing director and chief executive officer, in a news release.

Jim Gorman joins MTR as a senior vice president/institutional sales. Previously he was a director in the high yield department of Barclays Capital in New York and before that was with Salomon Brothers, Inc.

Jim O'Grady also joins MTR as a senior vice president/institutional sales. He was previously at Lazard Freres, most recently as a senior fixed income portfolio manager.

William Nightingale and Fred Romano join MTR as senior vice presidents/institutional sales in the emerging markets group. Nightingale was previously in fixed income sales at Bank of America and Credit Suisse First Boston. Romano worked in U.S. high yield and emerging market debt at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Salomon Brothers Inc.

Richard Parkinson joins as a first vice president/institutional sales in the emerging markets group. Parkinson has been involved in sales and trading of Asian fixed income securities for the past 10 years in New York and Singapore.

Lou Glayat joins as senior vice president/trading. Glayat has previously worked in high yield at Merrill Lynch and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and most recently at Gleacher NatWest Securities.

Lori Pollack joins as a first vice president/sales. Pollack was most recently with Mitchell Hutchins Asset Management and prior to that Gruntal & Co.

Rudolph Barthelemy joins as an assistant vice president in MTR's research department. Barthelemy was previously with Morgan Stanley.
