DBRS: GM Financial notes BBB (low)

DBRS said it assigned a rating of BBB (low) to the $1.5 billion 4.2% senior notes due March 2021, and the $1.25 billion 5.25% senior notes due March 2026 issued by General Motors Financial Co., Inc.

The trend on all of the notes is positive.

Proceeds will be included in the general funds of General Motors Financial and available for general corporate purposes.

DBRS said the rating reflects the ownership of the company and considers the increasing share of its earning assets that are General Motors (GM)-related. Moreover, the strong financial and operational interconnectedness between General Motors Financial and GM and the importance of General Motors Financial to GM as a provider of dealer and consumer automotive financing underpin the ratings.
