GM asset sale approval draws appeal from product liability claimants

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 9 - General Motors Corp.'s asset sale approval order has been appealed by a group of plaintiffs in a Superior Court of Arizona lawsuit connected to a death claim stemming from a GM Chevy Malibu product liability claim, according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Specifically, the appeal was filed by plaintiffs Jin Ah Lee, Jungil Lee, Sang Chul Lee and Dukson Lee.

As previously reported, the sale to NGMCO, Inc., an entity funded by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, was approved on July 5.

GM, a Detroit-based automaker, filed for bankruptcy on June 1. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-50026.
