By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 12 - Alon Blue Square Israel Ltd.’s board of directors approved the appointment of Moti Ben-Moshe as a new director of the company, effective immediately, according to a 6-K filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The appointment was made in accordance with the debt reorganization and arrangement between Alon Blue Square and its financial creditors.

Since 2009, Ben-Moshe has served as a business manager at ExtraHolding GmbH a private group with holdings in the areas of energy, telecommunications, travel, insurance and internet.

As previously reported, Ben-Moshe is the controlling shareholder of the private company that will assume control of Alon Blue Square following the closing of the proposed plan of arrangement.

According to the 6-K, Yaniv Rog has been appointed as an alternate to Ben-Moshe and is expected to be appointed as a member of the board of directors, subject to final approval of the debt arrangement.

Since 2015, Rog has headed Yaniv Rog Law Offices.

Alon Blue Square announced on Wednesday that it obtained approval of its debt reorganization and arrangement from the District Court in Lod, Israel, subject to the receipt of approval of a proposed amendment by holders of the company’s series C debentures and the controlling shareholder’s series A debentures.

Based in Rosh Ha’Ayin, Israel, Alon Blue Square owns and operates supermarkets and specialty stores.
