By Paul A. Harris

St. Louis, March 6 - General Cable Corp. will start a roadshow on Friday for its $325 million offering of senior notes, according to an informed source, who added that the deal will be priced on March 16.

The Highland Heights, Ky., wire and fiber optic and cable products company is offering a tranche of 10-year fixed-rate notes, which will come with five years of call protection, and a tranche of eight-year floating-rate notes with two years of call protection.

Goldman Sachs is the bookrunner for the Rule 144A with registration rights note offering. Banc of America Securities LLC, Credit Suisse and Merrill Lynch & Co. are co-managers.

Credit ratings remain to be determined.

Proceeds will be used to fund the tender for $285 million of the company's 9½% senior notes due 2010 and for general corporate purposes.
