Gamco-led investors buy shares of GATX, raise stake to 8.5%

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 7 - GATX Corp. investors led by Gamco Asset Management Inc. and Gabelli Funds, LLC bought 210,550 shares of the company's stock between Dec. 3 and Jan. 3.

The shares were priced from $35.91 to $39.22 each, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The reporting persons beneficially own 4,027,815 shares, or 8.5%, of the Chicago-based company.

GATX leases, manages, operates and invests in assets in rail, marine and industrial equipment markets in North America and Europe.
