Malaysia's Gamuda to issue Islamic paper for up to RM 900 million

New York, Jan. 5 - Construction firm Gamuda Bhd. plans to issue up to RM 900 million of Islamic paper under its Al-Murabahah commercial paper and medium-term note program.

The program will comprise a maximum offering of RM 100 million of medium-term notes and up to RM 800 million of commercial paper.

Of the proceeds, RM 400 million will be used to refinance existing debt.

The remaining portion will be used for working capital, for capital expenditures and for investments.

Under the program, the commercial paper may have a tenor of up to seven years while the medium-term notes may carry a tenor of up to 20 years.

AmInvestment Bank Bhd. and CIMB Investment Bank Bhd. are underwriters for the program.

Gamuda is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
