S&P lifts GameStop view to positive

Standard & Poor's said it revised its outlook on GameStop Corp. to positive from stable and affirmed the company's ratings, including the BB corporate credit rating.

The agency said the outlook revision reflects solid results for the fourth quarter of 2007 and the company's announcement that it has authorization to repurchase $130 million of its senior notes.

"The outlook is positive as we expect the company to maintain solid growth, although it will be somewhat tempered by the weak economic environment, and GameStop may use its good cash flow for further debt repayment," S&P credit analyst David Kuntz said in an agency statement.
