Gabon makes interest payment on 8.2% notes after short delay

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., Dec. 18 - The Gabonese Republic said the Dec. 12 interest payment on its $1 billion 8.2% notes due 2017 is being distributed to noteholders now that legal proceedings preventing the payment have been set aside.

The High Court in London set aside on Tuesday the interim third-party debt order that had prevented the paying agent, Citibank NA, from distributing the interest payment, according to a news release.

No further details on the third-party debt order were given.
