DBRS revises Allied Irish Banks trend to negative

DBRS said it confirmed the long-term issuer rating of Allied Irish Banks plc at A (low) and changed the trend to negative from stable.

“The change of the trend to negative on AIB’s long-term issuer rating reflects our view that the scale of economic and market disruption resulting from the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic is negatively affecting the operating environment for banks in Ireland and we expect this to translate into lower revenues and higher loan loss provisions in coming quarters for AIB,” DBRS said in a press release.
