AllianceBernstein Multi-Manager Alternative Fund to launch

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., Feb. 28 - AllianceBernstein Multi-Manager Alternative Fund plans to offer shares in an initial offering, according to an N-2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The fund-of-funds seeks to provide long-term capital appreciation primarily by allocating its assets among investments in private investment vehicles that are managed by unaffiliated asset managers that employ a broad range of investment strategies.

The fund expects that its investments will be accomplished primarily through investment in international entities classified as passive foreign investment companies.

The shares will not have a maximum sales load. The management fees and other fees have not been determined.

The fund's investment manager and adviser is New York-based AllianceBernstein LP.
