Exide marks operating loss of $5.5 million in November, sales decrease

New York, Dec. 19 – Exide Technologies, Inc. reported an operating loss of $5.5 million for November on net sales of $73.56 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Dec. 18 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

In comparison, Exide posted an operating loss of $6.72 million in October on net sales of $93.7 million.

The net loss for November was $17.44 million, down from $22.03 million in October.

The company also reported $1.63 million in cash and cash equivalents as of Nov. 30, an increase from $1.13 million as of Oct. 31.

Exide Technologies, a Milton, Ga.-based maker and recycler of lead-acid batteries, filed for bankruptcy on June 10, 2013. Its Chapter 11 case number is 13-11482.
