Exide Technologies operating loss grows to $18.78 million in September

Pittsburgh, Oct. 31 – Exide Technologies reported an operating loss of $18.78 million for September on net sales of $82.41 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Those numbers compare to a $3.45 million operating loss posted for August on net sales of $77.19 million.

The net loss for September was $39.84 million, widening from a $29.55 million August net loss.

Exide also reported $19.93 million in cash and cash equivalents as of Sept. 30, down from $27.43 million at the end of August.

Exide Technologies, a Milton, Ga.-based maker and recycler of lead-acid batteries, filed for bankruptcy on June 10, 2013. Its Chapter 11 case number is 13-11482.
