Exelon planning senior notes offering due 2020

Virginia Beach, Jan. 8 – Exelon Generation Co. LLC is in the market with an offering of senior notes due 2020, according to a 424B2 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Barclays, Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC are the joint bookrunners.

Proceeds will be used to fund the optional redemption of Exelon’s $550 million 4.55% senior notes due June 15, 2015 and for general corporate purposes.

The energy producer is a subsidiary of Chicago-based Exelon Corp.
