Evergreen Solar receives third extension of exclusive plan periods

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 12 - Evergreen Solar, Inc. obtained a third extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a plan of reorganization, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company's exclusive filing period was extended to Aug. 13 from June 12 and the solicitation period to Oct. 12 from Aug. 13.

As previously reported, Evergreen Solar filed a liquidation plan in April. The plan confirmation hearing is scheduled for July 13.

According to the motion, the requested extension will give the company more time to solicit acceptance of the plan and seek confirmation.

Evergreen Solar is a Marlboro, Mass.-based producer of solar power. The company filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 15, 2011 under Chapter 11 case number 11-12590.
