Scotiabank plans buffered participation notes linked to Euro Stoxx 50

San Diego, Aug. 1 - Bank of Nova Scotia plans to price 0% series A buffered participation notes linked to the Euro Stoxx 50 index, according to an SUPPL filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are expected to mature 20 to 23 months after issue.

The payout at maturity will be par plus the index return. Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 15% and will lose 1.1765% for each 1% decline beyond the 15% buffer.

Scotia Capital (USA) Inc. is the underwriter with Goldman Sachs & Co. as dealer.

The notes will price Aug. 2 and settle Aug. 9.

The Cusip number is 064159767.
