Chicago, Jan. 9 – European Investment Bank priced €6 billion of 2.75% climate awareness notes due 2034 (Aaa/AAA/AAA) on Tuesday, according to a market source.
The notes priced at 99.466 to yield 2.812%, or at mid-swaps plus 18 basis points. Guidance was in the mid-swaps plus 20 bps area.
BofA Securities (billing and delivery), BNP Paribas, Morgan Stanley and Natixis were bookrunners for the EARN deal.
The order book was in excess of €42.5 billion.
Distribution is through Regulation S.
Proceeds will be allocated to lending activities contributing to climate change mitigation in line with evolving EU sustainable finance legislation.
The notes will be listed in Luxembourg.
EIB is the lender for the European Union and is based in Luxembourg.
