Ernst & Young launches Capital Advisors structuring broker affiliate

Madison, Wis., Aug. 17 - Ernst & Young LLP announced the launch of its affiliate broker-dealer Ernst & Young Capital Advisors, LLC.

Ernst & Young Capital offers a range of transaction and capital advisory services, including capital structure advisory, capital raising, restructuring and special situations finance to middle-market and larger corporate clients as well as creditors and other investors.

Leading the capital markets and structuring effort at Ernst & Young Capital is Peter Sherman, senior managing director.

Sherman has over 22 years of experience in the industry. Previously, he was with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and its legacy organizations, focused on capital markets and advisory services, including leveraged finance, special situations finance, restructuring and principal investing.

Also joining the team in the new firm's Charlotte, N.C., office are K.C. Brechnitz, Robert "Bo" Powell and John Murchison.

Brechnitz is a senior managing director and has 13 years of experience in leveraged finance, restructuring advisory, loan syndications and high-yield capital markets.

Prior to joining Ernst & Young, he was a managing director with Wachovia Securities.

Powell, a managing director, brings 14 years of experience in leveraged finance, restructuring advisory, loan syndications, mergers and acquisitions and principal investing.

Before working at Ernst & Young, he was a director with Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Murchison is also a managing director and has 12 years of experience in leveraged finance, restructuring advisory, loan syndications and principal investing.

Previously, he was a director with Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

With global headquarters in London, Ernst & Young specializes in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services.
