Equitable Resources files automatic shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., Dec. 19 - Equitable Resources, Inc. filed a debt securities, preferred stock and common stock automatic shelf registration in an S-3-ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The debt securities and preferred stock may be convertible.
Use of proceeds will be set forth in the applicable prospectus supplement.
Pittsburgh-based Equitable Resources is an energy company, with an emphasis on Appalachian-area natural gas supply activities, including production and gathering, and natural gas distribution and transmission.
