S&P: Equitable Life up to positive

Standard & Poor's said it revised its outlook on The Equitable Life Assurance Society to positive from negative.

At the same time, S&P affirmed its B long-term counterparty credit rating on Equitable Life and CCC- junior subordinated debt rating on notes issued by Equitable Life Finance plc.

S&P said the outlook revision reflects the progress made by management in reducing uncertainties, the increasing stability and the earnings benefit from the bond buyback.
