Elliott Associates buys more shares of Epicor, suggests company explore alternatives

Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 18 - A group of Epicor Software Corp. investors led by Elliott Associates, LP bought 4,965,000 shares of the company's stock between June 10 and Aug. 18 at prices from $6.51 to $7.93 per share.

Elliott said it asked Epicor whether the company has considered exploring strategic alternatives, a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission said.

The investors reserve the right to further discuss and/or meet with management, the board, other shareholders and third parties. In addition, Elliott may formulate plans or proposals regarding Epicor and its securities, the filing noted.

Elliott and its affiliates beneficially own 5,978,483 shares, or 9.9%, of Epicor.

The Irvine, Calif.-based company designs, develops, markets and supports enterprise application software products.
