EP Energy posts $60.72 million in net income for January; revenue up

Pittsburgh, March 2 – EP Energy Corp. reported $60.72 million of net income for January on $147.07 million in total revenue, according to its monthly operating report filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Those figures show a significant improvement from the $82.54 million net loss posted for December on $46.35 million in total revenue.

As previously reported, December’s net loss includes $12.77 million in interest expense and $43.33 million in net reorganization items.

In addition, the company listed $26.54 million in cash and cash equivalents as of Jan. 31, down from $32.32 million at the end of December.

The oil and natural gas exploration and production company is based in Houston. The company filed bankruptcy on Oct. 3 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas under Chapter 11 case number 19-35654.
