S&P affirms Entergy Texas

S&P said it affirmed its BBB issuer credit rating on Entergy Texas Inc. The outlook remains positive.

At the same time, S&P lowered the stand-alone credit profile on Entergy Texas to bbb- from bbb, reflecting moderately weaker financial measures over the next three years.

Accordingly, S&P said it is revising its assessment of the company’s financial risk profile to aggressive from significant and revising the comparable rating analysis modifier to positive from neutral. S&P also affirmed the A- senior secured issue-level rating.

“We assess Entergy Texas’ business risk profile as strong, largely accounting for the company’s challenges in reaching consistently constructive rate case outcomes, which in turn hurt financial performance,” S&P said in a news release.
