Enesco requests exclusivity extension to complete plan talks

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, May 9 - Enesco Group, Inc. requested an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of liquidation and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period to June 25 from May 12 and the solicitation period to Aug. 27 from July 12.

Enesco said several issues still need to be resolved in its plan negotiations with various constituencies, including the Internal Revenue Service, equity holders, the official committee of unsecured creditors and the company's pre-bankruptcy lenders.

A hearing is scheduled for May 15.

Enesco is an Itasca, Ill., producer of fine gifts, collectibles and home decor accessories. It filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 12. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-00565.
