Gamco continues to invest in EnergySouth

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 19 - Gamco Asset Management Inc. bought 82,335 shares of EnergySouth, Inc. through a series of buy and sell transactions between Aug. 8 and Sept. 18 priced from $60.59 to $61.46 each.
The investor and its affiliates beneficially own 566,962 shares, or 6.99%, of the Mobile, Ala.-based holding company, said a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
It was reported in July that Sempra Energy agreed to acquire EnergySouth for $61.50 per share, or a total of $510 million in cash.
Gamco bought 158,496 shares of EnergySouth between June 13 and Aug. 7 priced from $43.01 to $60.74 each, a prior SEC filing said.
Sempra Pipelines & Storage operates Liberty Gas Storage, an underground natural gas storage facility in Calcasieu Parish, La. Sempra Energy, based in San Diego, is a Fortune 500 energy services holding company.
