CEO of Energy Transfer Equity affiliate buys more than 3.47 million common units

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 5 - Kelcy L. Warren, chief executive officer of Energy Transfer Partners, LP, bought approximately 1.97 million common units of Energy Transfer Equity, LP between May 7, 2007 and Jan. 18, 2008 in a series of open-market purchases using personal funds.

Warren Partners II bought 1.5 million common units on Aug. 25 for about $41.91 million using Warren's personal funds and a margin loan obtained from Goldman, Sachs & Co.

According to a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Kelcy Warren owns 24,548,453 common units, or 11.02%, of the Dallas-based company.

Energy Transfer Equity, through its general partnership interest in Energy Transfer Partners, engages in the transportation and storage of natural gas and the retail sale of propane in the United States.
