New Issue: HSBC sells $170,000 buffered market participation notes on energy fund

Morgantown, W.Va., Sept. 28 – HSBC USA Inc. priced $170,000 of 0% buffered market participation securities due Dec. 18, 2019 tied to the Energy Select Sector SPDR fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus any fund gain, capped at 15.5%.

Investors will receive par if the fund falls by up to 10% and will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 10%.
