Endurance Specialty files $750 million shelf

New York, June 2 - Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. registered a $750 million shelf in an S-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Covered by the shelf are debt securities, preference shares, ordinary shares, depositary shares, warrants, stock purchase contracts, stock purchase units and trust preferreds. Securities may be issued as convertibles.

The total is made up of $500 million of new securities and $250 million previously registered but unsold.

Endurance also registered $299 million of stock to be sold by selling shareholders.

The Pembroke, Bermuda, property and casualty insurance and reinsurance company will use proceeds for general corporate purposes.
