Endo International trustee lodges objection for request for redaction

Chicago, Sept. 6 – Endo International plc’s request to redact personally identifiable information from all public filings has been objected to by Region 2 U.S. trustee William K. Harrington, according to a notice filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The undefined “personally identifiable information” is cause for concern and a stretch of the bankruptcy code, Harrington asserts.

Harrington says that this bankruptcy case is of tremendous public importance and will affect many ordinary lives.

The need for full disclosure is particularly prominent here.

Harrington further points out that the debtors chose the U.S. court system for the bankruptcy case and should not cite European Union norms or policies in their choice of international venue.

Endo is a Dublin, Ireland-based specialty pharmaceutical company. The company filed bankruptcy on Aug. 16 under Chapter 11 case number 22-22549.
