S&P ups Alfa-Bank Ukraine outlook to stable

Standard & Poor's said it revised its outlook on Alfa-Bank Ukraine to stable from negative.

At the same time, the CCC+ long-term and C short-term counterparty credit ratings were affirmed, the agency said, adding that the Ukraine national-scale rating was raised to uaBB- from uaB.

According to S&P, the outlook revision reflects the better prospects for economic stability in Ukraine following the recent formation of a new governing coalition and cabinet.

S&P credit analyst Maria Malyukova said, "It also takes into account the bank's expected improvement in capitalization, which will provide an additional cushion against asset quality deterioration."
