Colombia's Empresa de Energia de Bogota sets deal size at $610 million

By Paul A. Harris

Portland, Ore., Nov. 2 - Colombia's Empresa de Energia de Bogota SA ESP (EEB) set the size of its planned note offering at $610 million on Wednesday, according to a market source.

The energy company plans to price that amount of 10-year unsecured unsubordinated notes (expected ratings Baa3/BB+/) during the Oct. 31 week. The notes will be non-callable for five years.

Deutsche Bank and Santander are the bookrunners for the Rule 144A and Regulation S offering.

Proceeds will be used to prepay EEB International's $610 million of outstanding 8¾% notes due in 2014.
