Embratel starts roadshow Tuesday in London for $200 million five-year offer

St. Louis, Nov. 14 - Empresa Brasileira de Telecommunicacoes SA (Embratel) starts the roadshow Tuesday in London for a $200 million offering of guaranteed notes due 2008, according to market sources.

The roadshow stops in Boston on Nov. 19 and in New York City on Nov. 20.

Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank Securities are joint bookrunners on the deal that will be sold under Rule 144A with registration rights and Regulation S.

The non-callable notes will be guaranteed by Embratel Participacoes SA.

Embratel will use proceeds to refinance debt and for general corporate purposes.

The company is a Rio de Janeiro, Brazil-based telecommunications provider.
