Moody's assigns Eli Lilly notes A2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a rating of A2 to the new senior unsecured note offering of Eli Lilly & Co.

There are no changes to Eli Lilly's existing ratings.

Proceeds from the offering are expected to be used for general corporate purposes include debt repayment.

The outlook is stable.

Moody's said the A2 rating reflects Eli Lilly's good scale and solid competitive position as one of the 15 largest global pharmaceutical companies by revenue, its high profitability and its strong cash flow.
