Fitch gives Eletrobras BBB-

Fitch Ratings said it has assigned a local and foreign currency issuer default rating of BBB- to Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras, which also applies to all of its currently outstanding unsecured debt, which is currently not rated by Fitch.

The outlook is stable.

According to the agency, Eletrobras's ratings reflect its linkage with the Federal Republic of Brazil (rated BBB-, outlook stable).

The company has a strong position as the largest electricity generation and transmission company in the country, representing 38% of installed generation capacity and 56% of transmission lines, Fitch added.
