Wachovia to price absolute return range notes linked to iShares Russell 2000 for Eksportfinans

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., July 8 - Eksportfinans ASA plans to price 0% absolute return range notes due Nov. 10, 2009 linked to the iShares Russell 2000 index fund via underwriter Wachovia Capital Markets, LLC, according to a 424B3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the fund's shares trade above the upper barrier or below the lower barrier during the life of the notes, the payout at maturity will be par. If the share price remains within the barriers, the payout will be par plus the absolute value of the fund return.

The lower barrier will be 80% to 83% of the initial share price, and the upper barrier will be 117% to 120% of the initial share price. Both will be set at pricing.
