ESP Pharma founder forms EKR Therapeutics to develop products for cancer patients

Charlotte, N.C., June 27 - ESP Pharma founder Howard Weisman along with ESP Equity Partners and NewSpring Capital led the financing to form the emerging specialty pharmaceutical company EKR Therapeutics, Inc.

Weisman will lead EKR, along with co-founder Cathy Kerzner as president and Richard DeSimone as chief financial officer.

EKR, which plans to launch its first product later this summer, was founded to provide prescription products and therapeutic solutions that support and improve the quality of life of cancer patients.

EKR is located in Cedar Knolls, N.J.
