Fitch affirms Ek-Chai

Fitch Ratings (Thailand) Ltd. said it affirmed Ek-Chai Distribution System Co. Ltd.'s debentures due 2013 and 2015 at AA+(tha) with a stable outlook.

The ratings are based on a full guarantee provided by Tesco plc (A-/stable).

Tesco recently announced plans to launch a property fund comprising 15 Tesco Lotus hypermarket-anchored shopping malls in Thailand. The agency said Tesco aims to use the proceeds from the property fund to support its further growth in Thailand.
