Edison Mission noteholders terminate transaction support agreement

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 25 - Edison Mission Energy's unsecured noteholders terminated their transaction support agreement with the company and parent Edison International, effective Aug. 1, according to an 8-K filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to the termination notice, the parties failed to agree to the terms of a master restructuring agreement within 150 days of Edison Mission's bankruptcy filing, as required by the support agreement, and a court order approving a settlement transaction was not obtained within 210 days of the filing.

Edison Mission, an Irvine, Calif.-based developer of wind energy projects, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 17, 2012 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Its Chapter 11 case number is 12-49219.
