Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 8 - Eddie Bauer Holdings, Inc. said it will continue to operate as a standalone publicly traded entity after an insufficient number of shares were voted in favor of the company's proposed sale to Eddie B Holding Corp.

Eddie B. Holding, owned by affiliates of Sun Capital Partners, Inc. and Golden Gate Capital, sought to acquire Eddie Bauer for $9.25 in cash per share, according to a company news release.
