Ebix asks bankruptcy court for extension of exclusive plan periods

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., April 1 – Ebix, Inc. is seeking an extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

As a reminder, the company has already filed a plan and asked for a June 25 plan confirmation hearing.

Ebix asked the court to extend the exclusive plan filing period through July 14 from April 15 and the exclusive solicitation period through Sept. 12 from June 14.

Although the debtors will seek to have the disclosure statement approved at a hearing scheduled for April 22, they anticipate waiting to solicit the plan until after they can update the same with the results from the auction, which the debtors anticipate being on or around May 15, Ebix said.

Ebix is a Johns Creek, Ga.-based international supplier of on-demand software and e-commerce services to the insurance, financial, health care and e-learning industries. The company filed bankruptcy on Dec. 17 under Chapter 11 case number 23-80004.
