Moody's gives Baa1 to eBay notes

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a Baa1 rating to eBay, Inc.'s proposed senior unsecured notes. Proceeds will be used to refinance senior notes and for general corporate purposes. All other ratings and the stable outlook are unchanged.

The Baa1 senior unsecured rating reflects eBay's high brand awareness and leading position in the growing e-commerce sector. eBay also benefits from its scale and a large number of buyers and sellers globally that utilize its various marketplace sites supporting a positive network effect, the agency said.
