Two Eaton Vance senior loan trusts to offer shares

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Nov. 15 - Eaton Vance announced in separate 497 filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission that two of its trusts investing in senior loans will offer shares.

The Eaton Vance Senior Floating-Rate Trust will offer 3,380,550 shares. As of Nov. 7, the last reported sales price of a common share of the trust (NYSE: EFR) was $15.40.

The Eaton Vance Senior Income Trust will offer 3,677,150 shares. As of Nov. 7, the last reported sales price of a common share of the trust (NYSE: EVF) was $7.70.

Both funds have the same investment objective, that of providing a high level of current income with preservation of capital as a secondary objective.

Likewise, the trusts have the same investment strategy. Under normal market conditions, each fund invests at least 80% of its assets in senior loans of domestic and foreign borrowers. The loans may be denominated in U.S. dollars, euros, British pounds, Swiss francs, Canadian dollars or Australian dollars.

Scott H. Page, Craig P. Russ and Peter M. Camp comprise the primary investment team of the Senior Floating-Rate Trust.

Page and John Redding are co-portfolio managers of the Senior Income Trust.

Boston-based Eaton Vance Management is the investment adviser to the funds.
