Eaton Vance National Municipal Income Fund’s Thomas Metzold to retire

San Luis Obispo, Calif., June 17 – Eaton Vance Municipals Trust announced that the Eaton Vance National Municipal Income Fund will be managed by Craig R. Brandon as of July 31, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Current portfolio manager Thomas M. Metzold will be retiring from the Eaton Vance organization on July 31.

The fund seeks to provide current income exempt from regular federal income tax by investing at least 80% of its net assets in municipal obligations with maturities of 10 years or more and at least 65% of its net assets in municipal obligations rated at least investment grade at the time of purchase.

Boston-based Boston Management and Research is the investment adviser.
