Eaton Vance seeks OK to reorganize some state municipal funds

By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., Dec. 19 - The board of trustees of several Eaton Vance municipal funds recently approved a proposal to reorganize the funds into the Eaton Vance National Municipal Income Fund, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The affected funds are the Eaton Vance Alabama Municipal Income Fund, Eaton Vance Arkansas Municipal Income Fund, Eaton Vance Kentucky Municipal Income Fund and Eaton Vance Tennessee Municipal Income Fund.

Shareholders will receive proxy materials for the proposed reorganizations in March. If a fund's reorganization is approved by shareholders, it will be reorganized in the second quarter of 2014.

Boston-based Eaton Vance Management is the investment adviser to the funds.
