By Ashley Montgomery

Kansas City, Kan., Dec. 12 - Eaton Vance Management said it promoted William Delahunty to supervise a team of credit analysts as director of municipal research. The team analyzes municipal bonds and makes investment recommendations to portfolio managers.

Delahunty has been with Eaton Vance for 13 years as a research analyst focusing primarily on hospital, senior living and utilities issues of municipal bonds. He previously worked with Grubb & Ellis.

As director of municipal research, Delahunty will report to co-directors Cynthia Clemson and Thomas Metzold of the company's municipal income group.

"Bill has demonstrated his skill and attention to detail through his experience researching specific municipal credits and providing market insights," Metzold said in a news release. "We are pleased that his role has evolved to this leadership level and we firmly believe our municipal bond team, clients and investors will benefit from his depth of municipal bond knowledge."

The previous director of municipal research, Thomas Weyl, is leaving the company.

Boston-based Eaton Vance is an investment management firm.
